CREATION OF NEW AIRLINE COMPANY

A-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted a notice published in late July 2003 by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalid bin Zayd al- Nahayan, announcing the creation of a new airline company and the appointment of Sheikh Ahmad bin Saif al- Nahayan as President of the new company. The new company will be government-owned and will operate in coordination with the Gulf Air Company, specializing in flying tourist class passengers.
The new company will be called United Airline Company; it was established by a contract signed among the remaining partners in the Gulf Air Company following the departure of Qatar from Gulf Air management and the resulting company reorganization. This company will be the third airline of the Abu Dhabi Emirate.
