Moody's has raised Lithuania's foreigncurrency ceilings on bonds and bank deposits to A3 from Baa1 in light ofthe government's stronger financial position and the stepped-up pace ofeconomic restructuring in recent years. The government's foreign- and local- currency bond ratings were also raised to A3 from Baa1.
Moody's also affirms the P-2 rating on short-term foreign-currency obligations. The outlook on all the ratings remainspositive. The agency says the administration of Lithuania's public financescontinues to strengthen, underpinned by steady reforms in the tax system,municipal finances, and pension and health sectors.
