INTEL-ISRAEL EXPORTS FALLS TO $1.36 BILLION.

According to Maariv International, At the yearly press conference, Intel's Israeli subsidiary has reported that its 2003 exports slumped by 3% to $1.362 billion. The company's exports to Intel's other manufacturing facilities around the world are about 13% of all Israeli exports of electronics and information technology.
Intel has increased its workforce slightly from 5,316 employees in 2002 to 5,404 in 2003. Over 3,000 people work at its new FAB-18 location in Kiryat Gat. The company is toying with the idea of upgrading the Kiryat Gat production line from the 0.18-micron to the 0.09-micron technology. This step is estimated to cost $660 million. Intel has already applied to the Investment Center at the Ministry of industry.
