DOCOMO AND SINGTEL TO TEST INTERNATIONAL WI-FI ROAMING

DoCoMo and Singapore Telecom Mobile (SingTel Mobile) announced theywill conduct a trial to test international roaming between their WirelessLAN services. The trial is aimed at verifying technologies andmarketability under a plan to jointly launch a commercial international roamingservice. During the trial, DoCoMo and SingTel Mobile will share access to theirrespective Mzone(tm) and "Outdoor Wireless Surf" Wireless LAN services,which they currently offer at cafes and other locations to enable usersto connect to the Internet via PDAs and notebooks equipped with WirelessLAN cards.
DoCoMo's Mzone service is currently available at 216 locations in Japanand SingTel Mobile's Outdoor Wireless Surf service is available at morethan 230 locations in Singapore. - (World IT Report.com)
