AKBANK ORDERS $6.4 MLN WORTH LIPMAN POS TERMINALS

According to "Dunya", Akbank has ordered Lipman Electronic Engineering Ltd. for its Nurit 8320 landline point of sale (POS) terminals. Akbank, the second largest bank in Turkey, has ordered POS terminals worth approximately $6.4 million. The products expected to be delivered during the second quarter of 2004.
With this order, Akbank is increasing its total installed base of Lipman POS terminals by approximately 25%, to 190,000. Lipman, of which headquarters and R&D facilities are located in Israel, had been recently awarded a $3.3 million tender by Isbank A.S., Turkey's largest public bank, and a $2.4 million tender by Yapi Kredi Bank, another major Turkish bank.
