EURO-MED PROJECT REAFFIRMS EU SUPPORT FOR SMES

According to "Jordan Times", the head of the European Commission Delegation (ECD) to Jordan, Ambassador Robert Van Der Meulen, reaffirmed the European Union's commitment to the development of Jordanian small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs). He urged local and regional businesses to adopt prevailing environmental policies and practices in order to boost their competitiveness, according to an ECD statement released.
The ambassador was speaking at the opening of a one-day seminar being held at the Royal Scientific Society in the framework of a Euro-Mediterranean, EC-funded program aimed at enabling SMEs - especially in the crucial sectors of food, textile, and hotels - to adopt customized measures to improve their environmental performance.
