MOBILE TELEPHONE IMPROVES SIEMENS' PERFORMANCE IN COLOMBIA

The PCS telephone operation of Colombia Movil-OLA and the development of many projects by the mobile telephone operators in the domestic market have been improving the performance of the German Siemens in the country. Mobile telephone accounts for 30 percent of Siemens' income in Colombia. With contracts with the mobile telephone operators Colombia Movil -OLA and Comcel - to this last the multinational will provide an IN (Intelligent Network) prepayment system platform - and a further contracts in other areas such as energy, petroleum and professional services, Siemens expects to end this year with sales higher than US$250 million in Colombia, 68 percent more than the Euro$149mil posted in 2003.
