Al-Anwar newspaper quoted a notice published in late April 2005 by the management of the Bahrain Securities Bourse and the management of the Dow Jones Price Index announcing the early June 2005 beginning of a joint share price index. The paper quoted a notice published in late April 2005 by the Bahrain News Agency announcing that the new price index will be called the "Dow Jones-Bahrain Securities Bourse Index".
The paper quoted Securities Bourse Director Fuad Rashid who said that the Bahrain Securities Bourse is the smallest bourse in the Gulf States and that the extent of its trading operations comes to BD 5 billion ($13 billion).
