ETISALAT POSTS 22% NET PROFIT RISE

According to Al-Bayan newspaper (July 5, 2005), the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) posted Dh 1.7 billion net profits in the first five months of the current year, a 22% growth compared with the same period last year, in which Etisalat registered Dh 1.4 billion net profits. The board approved a dividend at the rate of 25 per cent of nominal value of shares to all shareholders.
The interim dividend will be with effect from 20th July 2005, and all shareholders registered in the shareholders register on close of day on 11th July 2005 will be eligible for the interim dividend.
