IRAN SETS LOWEST INTERREGIONAL EXPORTS RECORD - IMF

According to "Tehran Times", in a four-year period from 2000 to 2004, Iran had set the lowest interregional exports record in the Middle East, a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said. Only 3% of Iran's exports were destined for Middle East states in the said period. The IMF report stated that Lebanon set the highest record of interregional exports as it sent 38% of its total exports to the countries in the region.

Jordan with 25%, Syria with 20%, Oman with 14%, UAE with 10.5%, Egypt with 10%, Saudi Arabia with 8%, Bahrain with 7%, Yemen with 7%, Tunisia with 4.5%, Morocco with 4%, Kuwait with 4% and Algeria with 3.5% had all set higher records compared to Iran's interregional trade figures.
