IMPORTED SIEMENS TRAINS SET TO HIT LOCAL RAILWAY SOON

According to "Tehran Times", the first set of train set vehicles are already imported and will soon be attached to the local railway. The train set, which includes 20 compartments, were bought from Siemens Osterreich (the Austrian branch of Siemens Co.). The first batch is now in Bandar Abbas Customs and will be soon carried up to Wagon Pars Co.

in Arak for some wheel-set changes. Each of the train sets has four cars in which to accommodate 250 passengers totally. These high-tech Siemens trains can travel at a relatively high speed (160 km/h). Of all sets, five will be delivered to the Islamic Republic of Iran Railway Company. In addition, fifteen unfinished sets will be carried to Wagon Pars that will use Siemens technology to finish the vehicles.
