AMMAN TRADERS COMPLAIN AGAINST 'DAMAN', SEEK FAIR JCC REPRESENTATION

According to "Jordan Times", Industry and Trade Minister Sharif Zu'bi said he will not hesitate to annul the "Daman" conformity certification program implemented by the French Bureau Veritas (BIVAC) in case it hampers the country's trade. The Daman program, which the French company embarked on in September 2003, was designed to ensure that products on the domestic market conform to required local and other international recognized standards.

Bureau Veritas is responsible for issuing the conformity certificates attesting that certain categories of goods/products are in accordance with the required standards.
