NOI BAI AIRPORT PLANS OUTLINED

According to "VoV", the Ministry of Transport has asked the Ministry ofPlanning and Investment to prioritize a project to build Terminal 2 (T2) atNoi Bai International Airport using credit loans worth US$300 million fromthe Japan Bank for International Co- operation (JIBIC) in the 2005-2007fiscal years.
According to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO),the number of passengers through Noi Bai Airport will rise by 10 percent peryear in the next 10 years. Therefore, the airport needs to developinfrastructure facilities to able to welcome 50 million passengers per year.Terminal 2 is expected to be completed by 2010 and serve 6 millionpassengers annually by 2020.
