PM HOLDS TALKS WITH IMF DELEGATION

According to "Jordan Times", Prime Minister Adnan Badran met with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation headed by Zubeir Iqbal. The premier briefed the delegation on recent economic developments in the Kingdom. He noted that the national economy achieved tangible growth rate of 7.6 per cent in the gross domestic product during the first half of the current year.

Badran said local revenues rose by 24.6 per cent over the past eight months compared to the same period in 2004. The premier reviewed the latest developments related to the drop in foreign assistance and the international rise in oil prices, in addition to ways of encountering such challenges and achieving financial stability. Minister of Finance Adel Kodah and other officials also attended the meeting.
