GENERAL DYNAMICS AWARDED CONTRACT FOR 25MM LINKED CARTRIDGES

General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems, Marion, Ill., is being awarded an estimated $25,397,620 firm-fixed-price, indefinite- delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for 25mm linked cartridges. The 25mm cartridge linked configuration is fired from the MK38 deck- mounted Gun Weapon System, which utilizes the M242 25mm chain gun onboard Navy and Coast Guard ships and patrol boats.
Work will be performed in Marion, Ill., and is expected to be completed by March 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with three proposals solicited and two offers received via the Federal Business Opportunities website.
