PETROBRAS TO INVEST US$ 16 B TO PRODUCE MORE GAS UP TO 2010

According to anba: Petrobras hopes to arrive at the year of 2010 with a natural gas supply of about 100 million barrels per day, of which 65% to be produced by the company itself and 35% imported from Bolivia. For such, the company plans on investing US$ 16 billion in the next few years - US$ 8.8 billion in production and US$ 5 billion in the area of infrastructure for transportation of the product and in distribution and development.
The information was given by the director of Energy and Gas at the Brazilian state-owned oil company, Ildo Sauer. According to him, Petrobras has a vigorous investments programme in the field of natural gas in Brazil with the aim of becoming less dependent on the imported product.
