ATK SPACE AWARDED CONTRACT FOR DEVELOPMENT

ATK Space Systems Inc., Clearfield, Utah, is being awarded a $21,689,885 indefinite-quantity/indefinite-delivery contract. This action provides for the development and demonstration of automated composite production technologies enabling enhanced design and manufacturing of cost-effective large composite structures for use on space launch vehicles.
The technologies to be developed will enable increased scale, performance and reliability while providing design flexibility and an improvement in cost for current and future space launch vehicles. At this time, $1,923,322 has been obligated. Solicitations began September 2005 and negotiations were complete in June 2006. This work will be complete October 2011.
