CAIRO HOSTS REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF US CAPITAL MARKET AUTHORITY

The US Capital Market Authority decided to hold its annual regional conference in Cairo in 2008 inappreciation of the distinguished status which the Egyptian capital market and stock exchange enjoy in the Middle East. Chief of the Egyptian Capital Market Authority Hani Saryeddin announced yesterday that the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) supervising the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (NASDAQ) Stock Exchange signed with Egypt a new agreement to transfer its experience to the Egyptian market.
Saryeddin also noted that the Egyptian market ranks second in Africa and third in the Arab world, confirming the US interest in the developments of the Egyptian Stock Exchange given the big increase of the foreign investments in the bourse.
