ALGERIA TELECOM CONNECTS HOUSEHOLDS TO FIBER

According to online press (December 11, 2007), Algeria Telecommunications, the country's public operator of telecommunications services, is the first African telecoms operator to put together a business strategy that includes Fiber-To-The- Home. The operator is deploying an FTTH network from French vendor Sagem Communication and on15 December it will be launching a triple play offer with voice, broadband Internet and television.

The triple play service will initially be offered in Oran, Alger, S?tif and Constantine before being rolled nationally in 2008. Algeria Telecom (AT) is a public telecommunications company based in Algeria. Established on 5 August 2003, the company offers various services such as voice, data, satellite and Internet access to residential and business users.
