PROBLEM BETWEEN EGYPT &EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT A STORM IN A TEA CUP

Head of the European Commission in Egypt Klaus Ebermann described the problem between Egypt and the European Parliament as a storm in a teacup Ebermann called on the European and Egyptian parliament to open a dialogue to contain this problem. Both sides must sit together to put an end to this tense atmosphere, he said.

Ebermann said lawmakers from both parliaments should exchange visits to dispel tensions. Egypt is a heavyweight country that has distinguished ties with Europe. Ties between Egypt and the European Parliament have been marred by an EU parliamentary resolution that criticized what it called Egypt's poor human rights record.
