AsiaInfo Services 04-08-1997 EV-1 Takes to Road SHANGHAI, April 8, AsiaInfo Services, Inc -- General Motors Corp has launched a test drive program in Shanghai for its EV-1 electric car. On Wednesday, a stylish, red EV-1 drew much attention at Shanghai Gymnasium. GM launched its EV-1 test drive program for government organizations and research institutions in Shanghai as part of its EV-1 cooperation program with the State Science and Technology Commission (SSTC).
Last month, GM provided two EV-1 vehicles to SSTC for road testing and display. Last May, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Rudi Shclais, president of GM China, and Xu Guanghua, deputy director of SSTC, for cooperation in the research, development and promotion of electric vehicles....
