AsiaInfo Services 12-24-1997 1997: GM's Triumph in China CHINA, December 23, AsiaInfo Services, Inc -- Chinese largest foreign funded project in history financed by GM in 1997 involved 1.6 billion dollars. The creation of Shanghai GM Automobile Co Ltd and Pan-Aisa Automobile Technology Center Co Ltd is the epoch making after of the cooperation between GM and China.
Last March GM signed the contract with Shanghai Auto Industry Head Company. Meanwhile GM's trade with China on products and equipments continues to grow-GM in the same year permits to cooperate and exchange with Chinese government on auto technology and environmental protection.
