AsiaInfo Services 01-14-2000 Banking on Automatic Success CHINA, January 14, AsiaPort -- Diebold, the world's leading automated teller machine (ATM) manufacturer, has received its largest order in China this year from the country's largest commercial bank, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
According to the contract, ICBC will purchase 450 ATMs valued at US$ 11 million from Diebold. The ATMs will be installed in ICBC's branch banks in more than 16 provinces. The new ATMs will also help enhance ICBC's already established nationwide ATM service network made up of 10,000 ATMs, ICBC officials said. Copyright 2000 AsiaInfo Services (via Comtex).
