AsiaInfo Services 01-09-2001 Cisco, China Unicom Develop Largest VoIP Network in the World CHINA, Jan 09, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- China Unicom has chosen Cisco as its major provider of its VoIP (Voice Services over the IP) network nationwide. Covering 319 cities in 30 provinces, the VoIP network will need an investment of several million US dollars and will loom as the world's largest VoIP network. Cisco will provide China Unicom with IP backbone routers and IC routers, including AS5800 voice gateway, AS5300 voice gateway, CISCO7200 gateway, Catalyst series of transfer and other facilities.
