AsiaInfo Services 01-16-2001 China Telecom expands bandwidth of Chinanet CHINA, Jan 16, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- China Telecom has expanded the bandwidth of its Internet network, Chinanet, to 800G and increased the transmission capacity of the network by 15 times. The international exit bandwidth of the network is now 2G, and is expected to reach 3.3G by March 2001. China Telecom began to expand its Internet network in the second half of 2000. Chinanet now has 16 million subscribers, accounting for 70 percent of China's Internet market.
