AsiaInfo Services 02-23-2001 Eguo.com turns sights on home market BEIJING, Feb 23, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- EGuo.com, a B2C portal in Beijing, said Saturday it had failed in its bid to acquire the troubled US online retailer eToys.com. Company CEO Zhang Yongqing, who returned from the United States Friday, said EGuo.com would now turn its eyes back on expansion of its business in China. Zhang said he had contacted eToys.com through a third party, but the American retailer turned down his acquisition proposal. "Their response was one of indifference," Zhang conceded. "EGuo will shift its attention to the home market," he added.
"But we shall keep an eye on eToys." From China Infoworld, Page 4, Sunday, February 18, 2001 info@AsiaPort.Com ...
