AsiaInfo Services 03-26-2001 Animals of Chinese Zodiac Used in Packaging BEIJING, Mar 26, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- Coca-Cola (China) Co. Ltd. announced it would use the 12 animals of the traditional Chinese zodiac in its packaging before this year's Spring Festival on January 24, the latest issue of Beijing Review reports. The Chinese designs would be used for every 12 tins of cola.
It was the first time the company used Chinese cultural designs, making the new packaging a collector's item. It also represented an example of the localization of a major international company.
