AsiaInfo Services 05-16-2001 Microsoft Aims To Bolster China's Software Industry BEIJING, May 16, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- Software giant Microsoft Corp aims to be a positive force in China's fledgling software industry, chief executive Steve Ballmer said on May 11. "The software industry in China is not very well-developed from the standpoint of a multinational company, and also in terms of a local player," he told the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce.
"Our challenge is try to be a positive partner with the Chinese government in helping them figure out what are the right steps to take for the Chinese software industry."
