AsiaInfo Services 09-13-2001 Chinese People's Deposits Exceed RMB7 Trillion CHINA, Sep 13, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- Sources from People's Bank of China say Chinese people's deposits have hit RMB7.06 trillion by this August, the first time exceeding RMB7 trillion, increasing 12.3%, 6.1% more the same time last year and 5.4% more the end of last year. Deposits in August have exceeded RMB88.1 billion, RMB86.1 billion more the same month last year.

The annual deposits have exceeded RMB625.4 billion, RMB274.8 billion more the same time last year. Current deposit exceeded RMB242.3 billion, RMB41.5 billion less the same time last year; fixed deposit exceeded RMB366.1 billion, RMB23.6 billion more the same time last year.
