AsiaInfo Services 09-28-2001 China Netcom Connecting Consumers to Broadband Network CHINA, Sep 28, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- Broadband telecommunications network operator China Netcom Corporation Ltd (CNC) said it was shifting its business focus from building its national backbone network to attracting customers in specific cities. Edward Tian, president of China Netcom, said the company's focus for the financial year 2001, starting from this April, was to explore the retail market, which means directly providing broadband connection services to individual customers.
