AsiaInfo Services 11-02-2001 Airbus Spreads Its Wings in China BEIJING, Nov 02, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- European aircraft-maker Airbus is expected to deliver eight A318 planes to Beijing-based Air China by 2004, Airbus China said. Air China will operate the 107-seat passenger planes along its regional air routes which spans less than 500 kilometres. The A318, powered by CFM56-5 or PW6000 engines, can fly with a range of up to 2,800 nautical miles (5185 kilometres). Air China now has only three Airbus planes in its 66-member fleet.
