AsiaInfo Services 12-04-2001 China's NPA Can Be Dealt With Internationally CHINA, Dec 04, 2001 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- The Huarong Assets Management Co. announced yesterday that it will cooperate with a bidding group (headed by Morgan Stanley) to deal with the non-performing assets (NPA) (totaling RMB10.8 billion) in China. It is introduced that in addition to the Morgan Stanley, the bidding group consists of Lehman Brother, Solomon as well as KTH Assets Management Co.

Besides, the IFC will provide finance for the item. Via selling these non-performing assets, the Huarong is expected to gain over 20 per cent of the returns. In addition, the NPA Bid Invitation Meeting which was held onNovember 19th is China's first NPA international auction. It isknown...
