AsiaInfo Services 06-27-2002 CNNIC's Internet Keywords Service Obtained Support from Microsoft CHINA, Jun 27, 2002 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- On 24 June, 2002, CNNIC announced that it has already obtained the support from Microsoft for its internet keywords service. CNNIC released statement through its website, CNNIC negotiated with Microsoft for a month, and now confirmed that its internet keywords service would still supported by IE browser of Microsoft.

After June 28, the internet users could use IE browser to enjoy directly the internet keywords service. Before this, Mao Weicheng, the Director of CNNIC cabled Bill. Gates to ask for the reconsideration on withdrawing the support for RealNames. This was the latest progress about the fate of internet keywords...
