AsiaInfo Services 09-11-2002 Quad Band Mobiles Might Come Next Year SHANGHAI, Sep 11, 2002 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- It is known from the ongoingAsian Information Technology Exhibition held in Shanghai thatWavecom, the wireless module provider, is to come up with the worldfirst quad band GSM/GPRS module.
It is expected that quad bandmobiles might make the debut next year. Mobiles of Dual band (900/1800 MHz) and tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) are now dominating the market. Now that 850 MHz is added tothe frequency, quad band mobiles will support free global roaming,multimedia applications, high speed link and download of voice,data and screen pictures.
