NETCOM AND CHINA TELECOM CHASING FOR ADSL

AsiaInfo Services 12-12-2002 Netcom and China Telecom Chasing for ADSL BEIJING, Dec 12, 2002 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Beijing Telecommunications cuts the installing charge of ADSL from RMB 1300 to RMB 300, and puts off the half-price promotion activity of 512k ADSL for another half year from December 20. Beijing launched the ADSL broadband access in August last year with 80,000 lines for first stage project.
Up to the end of last year, the subscribers of ADSL had reached 5,000. Tang Xiongyan, vice-general engineer of Beijing Communications, says that the subscribers of ADSL this year is expected to hit 50,000 with series of sales promotion. The Beijing Telecom affiliated with China Telecom takes part in the competition for ADSL business just in the beginning...
