KFC OPENS THE 800TH OUTLET IN CHINA

AsiaInfo Services 01-13-2003 KFC Opens the 800th Outlet in China SHANGHAI, Jan 13, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- KFC China opened its 800th outlet in aerotrain terminal in Shanghai Pudong Airport the day before yesterday. KFC China Headquarters claimed that KFC is going to open 200 outlets in China each year in the future. Information Times reported that KFC had 500 outlets in China by October 2001, but four months later, outlet number increased to 600.
KFC's outlet number hit 700 in September 2002 and now it opened another 100 outlets within four months, during which six outlets were opened in Guangdong on the same day. At an average speed of 25 outlets per month, KFC will break the annual record of opening 150-200 outlets this year. Spokesman of KFC said...
