AsiaInfo Services 01-21-2003 NEC to Spin off Semiconductor Plant from Shougang NEC BEIJING, Jan 21, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- NEC plans to spin off the semiconductor branch from Shougang NEC and to form a new independent design company of integrated circuit for listing in Hong Kong.
This spinning is one year ahead of Shougang NEC's plan of listing in 2004. Now, NEC is investigating into relating regulations on Chinese IC companies listing in Hong Kong stock market, the company hopes to absorb experiences from semiconductor companies that have been listed in China's stock market.
