AsiaInfo Services 02-14-2003 Localization of Material Supply for KFC Hits 95% in China SHANGHAI, Feb 14, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Vice President of Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. (China) that owns KFC and Pizza Hut disclosed on February 11 that localization of material supply for KFC (China) has hit 95%.
Number of domestic suppliers of all food and packing materials for KFC (China) has risen from 200 in year 2000 to 470. Except for potato chips and potato flour, KFC (China) has accomplished localization in material supply. A report from China Center for Economic Research, Peking University shows that KFC (China) is dealing with enterprises from over 20 trades and industries covering farming, paper making, beverage, financing and education.
