AsiaInfo Services 04-22-2003 China Officially Launches Food & Drug Administration BEIJING, Apr 22, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's State Drug Administration has officially become the State Food & Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday and new stamps of FDA have been in use with effect from April 7, 2003. FDA, established on the basis of existing State Drug Administration (SDA) and covering SDA's function scopes, shall function directly under the State Council in a bid to in a bid to reinforce supervision over the safety of food, health products and cosmetics as well as to investigate and handle serious accidents.
