AsiaInfo Services 07-21-2003 Baidu Launched News Search Engine and Pictures Search Engine CHINA, Jul 21, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Chinese search portal Baidu recently launched news search engine and pictures search engine, further fortified its search king position in China. Baidu's senior manager Yu Jun said that the news search engine adopted a special identification technology, which is capable of identifying and grouping the articles with the same content, even though they might be different in titles and some sentences.
So even if there are one hundred articles with same content available on Internet, Baidu search engine only displays one, which greatly enhanced search efficiency. Pictures search engine takes photos from 150 million Chinese web pages...
