AsiaInfo Services 07-23-2003 Visa Int'l to Launch Verified by Visa Service in China BEIJING, Jul 23, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- On July 17 Visa International announced the official activation of 'Verified by Visa' service in China. China Construction Bank (CCB), Bank of China (BOC) and China Merchants Bank (CMB) have launched the service. Vice president of Visa International Asia-Pacific Xiong Anping said that the VISA Payer Authentication Service, 'Verified by Visa', is based on '3D secure protocol'.
The service is to reduce the risk of unauthorized use of a cardholder account and makes online usage of credit/debit cards safer for all the entities involved. Verified by VISA service enables card issuers to verify a cardholder's identity. Visa International...
