CGE TO ACQUIRE STOCK IN SZESG

AsiaInfo Services 12-26-2003 CGE to Acquire Stock in SZESG SHENZHEN, Dec 25, 2003 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- France-based Compagnie (Vivendi) Generale Des Eaux (CGE) and Beijing Capital VW Investment Co., Ltd. (Capital VW) announced that the two companies had totally acquired 45 % state-owned shares in Shenzhen Water Supply Group Corporation (SZWSG). In particular, CGE held 5 % shares and Capital VW held 40% shares in SZWSG.
The remained 55% state-owned shares are still owned by the SZWSG. CGE and Capital VW totally invested USD 400 million in this equity transfer. This deal is the largest one by volume in Mainland China in 2003 and is the largest one in the Chinese water industry by far. According to the equity transfer agreement, SZESG has 30 years...
