AsiaInfo Services 01-29-2004 More Messages in New Year's Eve BEIJING, Jan 29, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- From 12:00 a.m., January 22 (Lunar New Year Day) to wee hours of January 23, the cell phonesubscribers of China Unicom and China Mobile in Beijing had sent more than 100 million instant messages.
Among the whole, 4million China Unicom's subscribers sent out 48 million messages, nearly five times of that in usual period. The message rain during spring festival added at least CNY 10 million (USD 1 = CNY 8.2770) to the incomes of the two carriers. The China Unicom subscribers sent more than 10 million messagesfrom 20:00 to 21:00 on January 21 (Lunar New Year's Eve), whichwas four times of the usual period.
