SJTU DEVELOPS CHINA'S FIRST DNA COMPUTER

AsiaInfo Services 01-30-2004 SJTU Develops China's First DNA Computer SHANGHAI, Jan 30, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- On January 27, 2004, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) announced that Bio-X Life Science and Biotechnology Research Center of SJTU (Bio-X) and the Institute for Nutritional Sciences (INS) of Shanghai Institute for Biological Science (SIBS) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) had completed the research and development of elementary DNA computer in test tube.
The move means that Shanghai gave birth to China's first DNA computer. The new DNA computer's win is based on the DNA computer developed by Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Scientists expect that DNA computers can be used to research and develop new-generation genotyping...
