AsiaInfo Services 02-16-2004 Mobile Phone Makers Customize Phones for China Mobile BEIJING, Feb 16, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and NEC, five world-class mobile phone makers, have agreed to provide customized make-to-order phones for China Mobile, China's leading telecommunications operator. It is China Mobile's latest sales promotion campaign, which aims at expanding data services. Last month, GoTone, China Mobile's most valuable brand name, has been integrated into a Motorola high-end business phone. Experts say that cooperation between mobile operators and mobile makers can save costs. GoTone, also known as "QuanQiuTong", is a subscription-based SIM card, which can be used in more than 50 countries with roaming services.
