AsiaInfo Services 03-01-2004 Huawei Releases China's First 3G Mobile Phone SHENZHEN, Mar 01, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The Shenzhen-based Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., China's leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer, has recently released the first 3G mobile phone model at the 3GSM Congress in Cannes, France. The European WCDMA standard-based model may be put into mass production as early as in June. Last December, Huawei Technology and SUNDAY agreed to jointly build WCDMA 3G network in Hong Kong. On February 12, Siemens mobile and Huawei Technologies set up ajoint venture to promote the upcoming 3G mobile communication standard TD-SCDMA.
