AsiaInfo Services 03-15-2004 China Stands Hard on WAPI CHINA, Mar 15, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Intel has announced that it will not support the China-only WAPI standard. As a response to this, an official of WAPI announced that China would not allow Intel to sell its products if its products didn't meet the WAPIstandard. WAPI refers to wireless authentication and privacy infrastructure.
It is a new standard of China. China will adoptthis standard since June 1 to ensure network security. All the digital mobile products to be sold in China must meet this standard since June 1.
