JOINT VENTURE OF CHINA UNICOM, SK TELECOM TO BE SET UP

AsiaInfo Services 04-02-2004 Joint Venture of China Unicom, SK Telecom to Be Set up BEIJING, Apr 02, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- According to China Unicom, its joint venture with SK Telecom, the largest mobile communications carrier in South Korea, will be set up on April 8. As early as in July 2002, China Unicom and SK Telecom signed a letter of intent on setting up a joint venture.
In March 2003, the two parties signed a deal that SK Telecom would provide telecom value-added service for the country's CDMA (code division multiple access) subscribers of China Unicom, the nation's only CDMA network operator.
