AsiaInfo Services 04-16-2004 UT Starcom Obtains Big Order of PAS from China Netcom HEBEI, Apr 16, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- The America-based UT Starcom announced on April 13 that it had obtained an order valuing USD75 million from China Netcom. It will be used in the expanding business of PAS in Hebei Province.

China Netcom is a facilities-based broadband telecommunications operator. China Netcom will adopt the new generation network iPAS system of UT Starcom to the PAS service in 11 cities of Hebei Province. The new system will combine the networks of fixed-line and mobile, providing the customers with wireless communication.
