AsiaInfo Services 05-14-2004 Unicom A Share to Carry out Share Placement Plan SHENZHEN, May 14, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- On May 11, China Unicom held its 2003 shareholders' general meeting at Shenzhen Wuzhou Hotel to discuss about the share placement plan of its holding company, China United Telecommunications Corporation Limited (Unicom A Share), and many shareholders with 80% of Unicom A Share's stake attended the meeting. Finally, 99.84% of the present shareholders, better than expected, approved the share placement plan, which will be carried out within 2004.
